Top 5 Social Distancing Halloween Ideas

Sadly some states are having to impose, or discuss imposing new COVID-19 restrictions. If Halloween seems like it may have to be online or celebrated just in your family bubble then don’t worry! We have five social distancing Halloween ideas that can be done online or with minimum contact with other people.

Decorate Your House

A competition always livens up holidays, and decorating homes is a good way to keep the Halloween spirit without anyone coming into contact with each other. People can drive by in their cars and vote online to say whose house they preferred.

You could have a similar contest for the best-carved pumpkin. You could also bring back a popular idea from the start of covid lockdowns, chalking the sidewalks!

Neigbrs by Vinteum has a survey tool that you can use to vote on the best Halloween house.

Zoom Costume Parties

If your community is in a high-risk area, then hosting an online party is a great option. You can host a community happy hour to bring people together safely. Everyone can use a different Halloween Zoom background and come dressed up to the community Halloween party.

If you can’t join the party, then use Neigbrs by Vinteum social network to post your Halloween costume!

Drive-In

A great way to have a community event, but stay socially distanced is to have a drive-in party. If you have a large car park or field, you could set up a drive-in cinema and show some family-friendly Halloween movies. Volunteers could hand out sanitized bags of candy to everyone who comes. This is an awesome way to bring your community together and enjoy the Halloween spirit without being too close. It also brings back the best thing to come out of the pandemic, drive-in movies! Bask in the nostalgia and incredible spooky movies.

Anonymous Halloween

A really fun activity that really taps into the community spirit that we’re all searching for is to assign a household to spread Halloween fun to one other household. So you would be assigned a home, and you can leave a bucket of candy on the porch, or a carved pumpkin. You could go all out and leave clues for them to find out who you are or spread joy anonymously.

Trick-or-Treat Virtually for UNICEF

This year’s UNICEF trick-or-treat is completely online. You can download online activities to do with kids, and receive your virtual fundraising box. Use Halloween to help other children around the world, and teach the children about helping others. This year it’s more important than ever to help other people, and UNICEF’s campaign is a really incredible way to help out and have fun.
