Spend a Safe Thanksgiving in your HOA

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus, many families won’t be able to do a big gathering with each other for Thanksgiving. Fortunately, there are safe ways to spend Thanksgiving in your HOA this year.

1. Firstly, it’s very important to consider things to avoid when doing this celebration as there are certain risks:

  • Traveling shortly before attending your family’s house. Traveling increases your chances of getting the virus. So, it is important that before you visit someone, you have spent at least 14 days in isolation to make sure you don’t have any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Attending crowded outdoor areas where masks and hand sanitizers are poorly enforced can increase the transmission risks significantly. This is due to the lack of proper hygiene in the area.
  • Attending crowded indoor areas that are poorly ventilated are also ways that make you more vulnerable to getting the disease.

2. Practicing these activities listed above makes you very prone to getting the virus, therefore make sure you consider doing these activities instead:

  • Avoid interaction for at least 14 days before gathering.
  • Try shopping for thanksgiving online rather than in person at the store as it reduces having contact with people.
  • Also consider gathering with few people within your household, to have fewer chances of the virus being transmitted.
  • And most importantly, be hygienic: wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, wear masks when not eating/drinking and use hand sanitizer.

3. Since a big part of Thanksgiving is the feast, make sure you do it with the proper safety precautions:

  • It is ideal that while doing and serving the food the person is wearing a mask.
  • Make sure people have washed their hands before and after eating.
  • Stay at least 6 feet away from people from outside households when eating.
  • Consider bringing your own food.

After the gathering, to make sure you are 100% safe and not running any risks in transmitting the virus, consider staying home for 2 weeks, avoid any interactions from people outside your HOA, and if you feel any symptoms like fever, dry cough, and tiredness, opting to test for the virus is a good idea.

If, however, you still think that these methods are too risky, you can still opt for a virtual gathering. Having an online meeting on Thanksgiving, allows you to spend this holiday with your entire family, without running any unnecessary risks. You can do many fun activities together, such as virtual games like gartic or stopots, Netflix parties, and even live stream football games. You can host a virtual meeting at https://vinteumneigbrs.com/ and you can find out how to host online meetings here.

That’s it, I hope that today’s post showed you that it is possible to spend a safe Thanksgiving in your HOA.
