This is the first part of our client spotlight series, where we shine the light on the amazing work that you are doing! Our first interviewee is based in Orlando, FL. Brie started Trident Management in early 2019, and she sat down to chat with us about her experience.
Vinteum: Where and when did Trident Association Management begin?
Brie: Trident began as an idea of how to do community management differently in the Central Florida market in early 2019. After four years of experience in the industry, we decided to finally make the leap to form our own firm and we haven’t looked back since!
Vinteum: What types of properties do you manage?
Brie: We service single-family and townhome associations.
Vinteum: What sets Trident apart from other companies?
Brie: Our customized approach at community management allows us to provide an unparalleled level of service to our homeowners. Trident’s three-prong objectives are to be responsive, transparent and innovative. We pride ourselves on offering expedited responses to all homeowner inquiries with actionable responses that will solve the issues without delay. Our policy to be transparent is a result of listening to numerous board members express frustration that they cannot easily access financial data or documents that are needed in order to support the community. As such, we provide a cloud-based sharing to your association that will allow unimpeded viewing rights for the Board President to monitor letter communications, documents, and statements on a real-time basis. The goal is to make the volunteer boards’ job easier, not more cumbersome! Lastly, Trident does its best to offer innovative solutions to common problems. Often, community managers will rely excessively on vendors to solve problems that could easily be fixed with some personal attention. These three traits of Trident are vastly different than what a larger community association manager can or will provide.
Vinteum: What drew you into the property management business?
Brie: Initially, I began working in this industry as a favor to a friend during a family emergency. I quickly learned how interesting and rewarding it could be to help homeowners and board members alike affect change in their neighborhood. Since then community management has been my passion!
Vinteum: What do you like most about your job?
Brie: I love exceeding the expectations of our homeowners and residents. Too often I find that a previously poor experience with a community manager can make owners dread reaching out with an issue or concern. A little extra effort goes a long way in changing the outcome of a situation and it is always worthwhile to go the extra mile. Nothing makes my day more than solving a problem fairly and quickly. We are all working together to better your community, protect your investment and create a space you enjoy coming home to. I don’t take that lightly.
Vinteum: Where do you see the community association management industry going in the future?
Brie: I see a trend towards bringing communities together through mobile platforms like Vinteum. In the Central Florida market, we serve a lot of out of state owners that have enjoyed the advances in technology that allow them to be involved in their community from anywhere in the world.
Vinteum: How has Vinteum helped you grow as a business?
Brie: Vinteum allows us to offer the same online presence as large CAM firms while allowing us to maintain the highly custom approach to association management that defines Trident with the added benefit of a great mobile app!
Vinteum: What is your favorite part about Vinteum?
Brie: Our communication with owners, tenants and property managers is made so simple with Vinteum. Our lives have become so busy that it can be hard to make it to a board meeting or community event. With Neighbors, we can get important neighborhood updates and timely information out quickly and effectively.
Recently we found ourselves preparing for a possible weather emergency from Hurricane Dorian. We were able to communicate with all our residents the important updates affecting their community, something that would have been much harder without Vinteum as our partner.
Vinteum: What would be your biggest piece of advice for board members or property managers?
Brie: In this industry, I have found that everyone has strong feelings about the purpose of HOAs, good and bad. Quite frequently I find that the source of frustration for most owners and board members stems from poor communication and poor management. The idea of changing management firms can seem so daunting to boards that they will frequently suffer through their current situation longer than needed. My biggest piece of advice for frustrated board members is to communicate your needs to your management team and if those needs are not met to find the right fit for your community! Transitions do not need to be a messy affair but sometimes they are necessary to properly serve the best interest of your association.
