What is an architectural committee?
The architectural committee, often shortened to ARC, reviews and approves any changes homeowners want to make to the exterior of their property, a new fence, a repainted front door, a room addition. Its job is to keep the community’s look consistent with the standards residents agreed to when they moved in.
Why does an architectural committee matter?
Nobody wants to be the board that let one neighbor build a shed that tanks everyone else’s curb appeal. The ARC gives boards a fair, documented process for approving or denying changes, instead of relying on gut feeling or whoever complains loudest.
