Transition Meeting

What is a transition meeting?

A transition meeting is the point at which control of the HOA shifts from the original developer to the homeowners, including turning over records, financial documents, and electing a resident-led board. The developer may also present a financial summary of the community’s condition.

Why does a transition meeting matter?

How thoroughly a developer hands things over at this meeting shapes everything the new board inherits. A rushed or incomplete transition can leave residents discovering deferred maintenance or missing records months after the developer is long gone.
