Governing Documents

What is HOA governing documents?

Governing documents are the full set of official rules and guidelines that shape how an HOA operates, the Declaration of CC&Rs, the bylaws, and any additional rules and regulations the board has adopted. Together, they’re the backbone of everything the community does.

Why does HOA governing documents matter?

A board that doesn’t know its own governing documents inside and out is guessing at decisions it should be able to answer with confidence. Every resident should be able to point to exactly where in these documents a given rule comes from.
