What is HOA software?
HOA software centralizes the tools a self-managed board needs, communication across text, email, and robocalls, a website, amenity bookings, maintenance requests, incident reporting, document storage, into one system usable from a desktop or phone. It exists largely because roughly 30 to 40 percent of HOAs in the US run without a management company.
Why does HOA software matter?
In one industry survey, close to 87 percent of board members said communication was a real problem, often because they were only using one channel and half the community never saw the message. Software that pushes a notice out across several channels at once, and automates the recurring grind around maintenance and documents, gives a volunteer board back time a management company would otherwise absorb.
When You’ll Run Into This
Boards usually start looking seriously once self-management starts feeling unsustainable on spreadsheets alone. Our guide to how self-managed HOA software transforms a community covers what changes once you make the switch.
