Keeper Fees

What is keeper fees?

Keeper fees are the charges a bank applies for maintaining an HOA’s keeper system, the arrangement where the bank holds a portion of the association’s funds and makes them available on demand.

Why does keeper fees matter?

These fees are easy to overlook in a bank statement full of larger line items, but they quietly add up over a year, and they’re worth comparing against what other banking arrangements would actually cost the association.

When You’ll Run Into This

This is worth reviewing during an annual banking or vendor review, when a treasurer is already comparing costs across the HOA’s financial relationships.
