Negotiated Settlement

What is a negotiated settlement?

A negotiated settlement is an agreement between the HOA’s governing body and a resident that resolves a dispute outside of the court system, reached through direct discussion rather than a formal hearing or lawsuit.

Why does a negotiated settlement matter?

Settling a dispute this way saves both sides the time, cost, and stress of litigation, and it often preserves the relationship between the board and the resident far better than a court order ever could.
