What is an architectural review board?
An architectural review board, or ARB, is the committee that reviews homeowner requests to change the outside of their property, a new fence, a fresh coat of paint, a room addition. It measures every request against the design standards already written into the community’s governing documents.
Why does an architectural review board matter?
Without a working ARB, design decisions end up made on the fly, by whichever board member happens to answer the phone that day. A properly run ARB keeps those calls consistent, documented, and fair, so no homeowner feels like the rules bent for one neighbor and not another.
